Description

This pleasant bicycle trip begins in the spa town of Františkovy Lázně - set off in the direction of Slatina, Střížov, the Skalka water reservoir, and along its banks all the way to the state border. From here, ride through the Smrčiny (Fichtel Mountains) nature park towards the Libá Chateau, Skalka, and Hazlov. Here, you will find the grounds of Hazlov Castle, formed by several buildings and a church tower; however, it is not publicly accessible.
Continue on to Táborská and Ostroh. In Ostroh, you will find the nice Seeberg Castle. Then go in the direction of Vojtanov, through the nature park of Kamenné Vrchy to Starý Rybník. Here, you will see the ruins of a Gothic castle and of a château; both buildings are privately owned.
Then ride for a bit into Skalná, where you can take a tour and admire one of the oldest and most preserved stone water castles in the Czech Republic, Vildštejn Castle. From Skalná, go through Zelená, Kateřina, Nový Drahov, and Žírovice, returning to Františkovy Lázně.
