In addition to the colonnades, museums, and parks,
there are also other experiences
worth trying.
Would you like to see Amerika Pond but you do not want to walk that far? In that case, hop on the mini train that departs from the Milano complex.
During the season, the mini train departs every half hour from the Information Centre in the town centre (8 Máchova Street). The ride to Amerika Pond takes approximately 10 minutes. The terminal station is directly at the Amerika mini zoo with a new children's playground.
The Frantrain rides around the centre of the spa town and familiarises its passengers with the town's history in Czech and German languages. The ride takes about 20 minutes.
The departure and destination station is at the FRANTIŠEK Spring.
You can buy tickets from the driver.
If you are a train enthusiast, you will enjoy yourself at the Soos National Nature Reserve not far from Františkovy Lázně. You can look forward to a ride on the Kateřina narrow-gauge mine railway. The cars that used to transport extracted clay serve tourists today.
The 600 mm gauge railway is one of a few systems preserved on Czech territory. It was constructed a century ago when clay was intensely mined in the vicinity of the town of Skalná and such narrow-gauge lines were indispensable.
The railway operates on weekends. We recommend checking its operating hours here.
The Mirror Maze and the Magic Cylinder is a one-of-a-kind and exciting attraction, which is located in the Milano complex near the statue of František in Františkovy Lázně.
Almost 80 mirrors make it the biggest spectacle of its kind in western Bohemia.
You will be amazed by blind alleys, unexpected turns or corners, and other optical illusions. Come and see endless reflections of yourself in every direction. Find your way out of the maze and become the maze master regardless of your age!
The maze is complemented by a mysterious revolving cylinder that will make your head spin even more.
If you are heading to the beautiful spa town of Františkovy Lázně, you certainly should not miss the chance of visiting the local museum of classic cars and motorcycles. Czech car makes include, for example, Škoda, Jawa, Tatra, or Velorex, and foreign feature Mercedes and other brands. The Automobile and Motorcycle Museum in Františkovy Lázně showcases a total of 100 exhibits. Classic car fans can admire unique models, such as the Mercedes 1938 Cabrio or the Tatra 12 1930 Roadster.
The permanent exhibition of the Brömse Gallery in Františkovy Lázně presents sets of photographs and other artefacts illustrating the past and the present of the spa town. The gallery also organises variously themed short-term exhibitions. In addition to its main building in Poštovní Street, the gallery also displays its exhibits at the Beseda House, in the connecting corridor between the Aquaforum and the Imperial Bath or on the exhibition premises in Swiss Court. A ceramic 350x260cm model of Františkovy Lázně is a part of the permanent exhibition.
The gallery regularly organises artistic workshops. You may try your hand at various art techniques on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Workshop reservations should be made in advance.
