Description

The bronze statue of Emperor Franz I dressed in the historic coronation ornate of Bohemian kings was ceremoniously unveiled on 7 June 2002 in front of the Park (Sadová) Café. This is a casting of the original statue that stood on Smetana Embankment in Prague until 1918, which was then moved to the National Museum. The statue in Františkovy Lázně was cast by master Pavel Horák in cooperation with sculptor Olbram Zoubek.

The equestrian statue of Franz I was placed on a high pedestal at a representative location in the Municipal Park, where previously, the monument to Franz I created by Schwanthaler stood, which was moved to the Isabella Promenade after 1989.
