Little František is, without a doubt, the most popular “figure” of Františkovy Lázně. Because of his legendary magical powers, many consider him to be the symbol of Františkovy Lázně. The present-day bronze sculpture of a boy with a fish dating to 1967 is already the fourth version of the original terracotta garden sculpture from 1934, which is currently found in the Municipal Museum. The author of the original “Brunnenbuberl” was the local sculptor, Johann Adolf Mayerl (1884–1954), who had a significant hand in aesthetically creating the public space of Františkovy Lázně between the World Wars. Among his other works we can also mention the façade décor of the theatre building or of the Park (Sadová) Café.
