Krajinka – the Sports and Recreational Grounds to the south of Cheb Castle

Description

These recreational grounds extend from the Skalka Reservoir all the way to Cheb Castle. The name - Krajinka (Little Landscape) - is derived from the landscape exhibition that first took place here from May to September 2006, and then again in 2013. Maintained garden beds and gardens remained after the exhibitions ended, which people now use for relaxation and walks. The Krajinka Grounds are a tourist attraction, representing a site for relaxation and sports on both banks of the Ohře River. The children’s playground is located on the right bank of the Ohře River, in the area to the south of Cheb Castle.

The playground has play elements for the youngest of children, as well as fitness equipment for older children or adults. Swings, slides, wooden blocks, and sandboxes are also found here. Part of the playground is a small jungle gym with a bridge and slide. The large jungle gym in the shape of a boat has a simple and twisted slide that will be enjoyed by small sailors. In warm weather, the water attractions are quite popular. Next to them is a play corner for the smallest of children (slides, a wooden chair, a magnet board, playhouse). Refreshments are found directly next to the children’s playground. There are not only children’s playgrounds here, but also a mini-golf course, outdoor fitness equipment, a pétanque court, an amphitheatre, café, and a lookout tower on Vávra Bridge. By crossing Vávra Bridge, you access the left bank of the Ohře River. Here, a running track with a 400 m oval was built, as well as a basketball court, a football field, and grounds for other sports. There is a meadow designated for picnics, with grills for barbecues. You can rent sports equipment or social games here.
