The Božena Němcová Monument commemorates the two stays of this Czech National Revivalist and author, Božena Němcová (1820–1862), in Františkovy Lázně.
The monument located near the František Spring is also a witness to the unsettled history of the 20th century. The bas relief portrait of Božena Němcová from the work of Josef Jiříkovský replaced the original plaque in 1950, also substituting the original meaning of the monument constructed in 1837 to commemorate the so-called “Saxon Endowment”, which covered spa treatments for poor Saxons beginning in 1820.
