Vladimír Nosek - On the border of light
collage, acrylic
Vladimír Nosek (born in 1959) has spent the last decade focusing mainly on classical collage in a distinctive conception with an unmistakable handwriting. He works with geometry and graphic sensibility, which he sometimes enlivens with a surrealistic element or an avant-garde motif. Initially disparate collages have gradually been replaced by coherent collections tightly bound by theme and manner of processing.
The artist tends towards a purely abstract representation using various geometric shapes. The common feature remains graphic precision and coherent composition, the colourful sobriety is alternated by a range of colour shades using sprayed acrylic. It is the combination of collage and acrylic that gives collage a new dimension, often interchangeable with printmaking techniques.
The exhibition at the Brömse Gallery runs until 27. September 2023
Opening times: daily 1.30 p.m. -5 p.m.
